Established in 1997, Alpaca Fields, Inc. sells, breeds, boards and shows huacaya alpacas.
Alpaca Fields’ year round yarn and gift shop completes the enterprise. Located in Berwick,
Me on 43 acres of rolling fields, there is plenty of room for growth and expansion. The
large antique farmhouse and barn makes it a picture perfect match for this mother, daughter
partnership.Patricia was introduced to the fiber side of the industry first, then the animal. She has been a retailer of fine yarns along with teaching both knit and crochet since 1992 and a fiber artist (knit & crochet) for more than 25 years. Hand spinning has become another hands on activity enjoyed. Both Patricia and Lisa have always written knit and crochet patterns for personal use and more recently in 2004 began selling them for retail and wholesale sales under the name, Special Tea Designs, a division of Alpaca Fields, Inc. Patricia and Lisa love their full time jobs as alpaca farmers, artisans and retailers. They truly enjoy sharing tips and conversation with customers about alpacas, fiber and yarns. |
