December 2nd 2002 my husband Scott and I found our 1850 dream farm house located on 13 acres in Buxton Maine. This was also the same day Scott was leaving for a 2 year deployment to Iraq. We weren't seriously looking to buy at that time but we needed something to do that morning before he left. When we saw this farm, we knew that it was just perfect! We both knew that by buying this farm house we both had a future to look forward to and that it was a sign that Scott would come back to me safely.

That first winter while Scott was deployed, I sold our house and moved. Trying to keep myself SANE during this challenging time, I started visiting alpaca Open Farm Days and it was truly "love at first sight". Never realizing that geldings were so affordable, I started sending my husband photos of these soulful, wide eyed animals that looked like cartoon characters.

Thankfully when Scott safely returned home we started fencing and preparing our barn. Starting with four geldings, I was instantly hooked. These boys made me laugh and believe me that was something I did not experience much while Scott was in Iraq. My first year owning alpacas, I explored the possibility of buying breeding stock. By attending shows and visiting more farms, I decided that while I respect the breeding part of the alpaca industry, I preferred to concentrate on non-breeding males. As my herd increased thereafter, I soon realized there was a need for one farm to focus solely on selling these amazing fiber males and helping first time buyers set up their farm.

While I continue to teach art full time at Falmouth High School, I am also able to balance my time taking care of my alpacas. I find them calming after a very busy day. There are many mornings and nights I sit in my field in disbelief that I actually have this wonderful alpaca farm and own such beautiful animals.

My goal for my business is to continue to match my alpacas with good/caring homes and to educate the public that these males are affordable and produce outstanding fiber. My boys have truly enhanced my life and I want to share my experience with other animal lovers.

I take pride in our farm and our animals and welcome you to visit. Once you see our alpacas, you too will be hooked!
