"Life's Simple Pleasures" By Andrea Wood After living in this quite town called Vassalboro, Maine, for four years, my husband and I acquired 70 more acres. A few months after getting all of this land we had always thought of having some sort of animals here, but we really didn't know which animals would be good for our life style. After researching different animals I came across alpacas. After several late nights researching and a lot of questions, and visits to local farms and shows, we fell in love with them and the calm life style. After we visited several local farms and our... accountant, it became clear to us that alpacas were the perfect animal for us. We have been raising alpacas since the summer of 2006 and love our new herd. 
We have to say "Thank You" to all of the other alpaca farms that were very helpful with
their knowledge along the way and their continued support.My husband works full time as a shipping manager at a local truss company and I am a full time mother; we both are hands on owners at our farm. We believe by staying small as a farm, and teaching our children the values, and advantages of farm life and what it's like to have a peaceful and rewarding lifestyle is what it is all about. Not to mention a lot of hard work, to be successful! We feel truly blessed with having our farm, and these opportunities that have been given to us. Being able to share all of this with our kids and alpacas is just wonderful! Alpacas are magnificent animals and we encourage everyone to experience how gentle they truly are. Our goal for our business is to have national name recognition for our up-coming crias, with Blue ribbon winners! We welcome your visit to our farm, and see it for yourself! |
